First, he allows himself to be turned into a fish, second, he swims with the Golden Fish into the depths of the sea, and third, he allows himself to be turned back into a human so that he can tell the story of his adventures. During his underwater journey, he meets many fish that resemble people he knows. The fish world and the human world turn out to be surprisingly similar. The film's charm lies in its sense of observation, fantasy, and humor, making it as much fun as it is a reflection on human nature.
