In order to meet her family's expectations and social pressure, she keeps her condition a secret for the time being. She secretly travels to Germany, but even here she cannot be helped immediately for legal reasons. The conflict with her husband Tomasz escalates when he finally finds out about her plans. In her final desperation, Ewa has to make a momentous decision.
